What’s on in April
From cheering on runners at the London Marathon, to exploring V&A East with its opening exhibition “The Music Is Black: A British Story,” and enjoying four days of live music at the Brick Lane Jazz Festival, East London is alive with culture, music, and excitement this April.
V&E East Museum Opening
18th April
Located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this new 7,000-square-metre museum will house major free permanent galleries. The museum will open with its first exhibition, “The Music Is Black: A British Story,” installed by British artist Thomas J Price.
Brick Lane Jazz Festival
23rd – 26th April
Experience four days of live jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul, and electronic music at the Truman Brewery in East London. Across 12 venues, the festival showcases both established artists and the hottest emerging talent from the London underground scene.
London Marathon
26th April
Whether you’re running or watching from the sidelines, the London Marathon route winds through London, including Canary Wharf and Greenwich Park. The day is full of energy, with crowds cheering on around 50,000 runners as they make their way through the city.
